Saturday August 23th Dells Raceway Park

Grant comes back with a sweep!

17 cars made it to the track 10 Formula Indy & 7 Rascal Outlaws. We are very pleased to note that 3 racers had towed all the way from Michigan, a drive of almost 14 hours around that big pond, These guys are real RACERS!

Also, our newest member Denny Dutton came out for his first race. Unfortunately we understand that one of the Michigan cars lost an engine in practice and Denny suffered a drive line failure while qualifing which side lined both cars for the night. WR

Reports and box scores are NOT official until recorded by the Treasurer or Secretary.

Saturday June 14 The  Milwaukee

John Zeilinga Sweeped with #14 Kai McNulty  in the 2nd position in the heats followed by Gary Cooper's #44 in third in the first heat & #35 Lyle Phillips taking 3rd in the second. But Kai had to settle for 3rd in the Feature as the #44 Gary Cooper, out for the first time this season was able to take over the number 2 spot from Kai followed by #17 Tim Roach 4th & Lyle Phillips 5th.
It was also good to have Rich Kossak make it out for his first race this year, he had some mechanical gremlins, but his sprits were high since his Wife & son Richard came along to cheer him on.

Gary Cooper tried on Rich Kossak's car for size?
Decided a large shoe horn or possibly a PortaPower would be required!

Saturday May 24th Milwaukee Mini Mile

The Milwaukee Mini Mile track was fast and fun for FIRA and the Rascal Outlaw cars #30 Jason Mahoney & #43 Mark Findley who made the race. Two 10 lap heats and one 15 lap feature were completed on Saturday with perfect weather.

The first heat race had John Zeilinga (JZ) winning with Grant Greenfield in second and Kai McNulty third. Lyle Phillips was not able to make the first heat race due to a broken wire. John took the lead early and Grant fought a battle with Rascal Outlaw #30 Jason Mahoney which Grant eventually won. Kai was fighting understeer throughout the race.

The second heat race was wild and exciting!! Grant won the race with JZ coming in second followed by Lyle and then Kia. John was very fast and took the early lead. However, he spun three times starting way back in the pack and fighting to his second place finish. While Grant ran a flawless race earning the top spot.

The feature race was won by JZ with Grant coming in second followed by Kai then Lyle. John took a commanding lead and was never challenged. Grant fought hard to catch JZ but John did not make a single mistake even though his brakes were beginning to fade toward the end of the race. Kai still had trouble with severe understeer and Lyle was not able to dial his car in because of missing the two practice sessions.

FIRA’s next race is at Rockford on Sunday June 1st then back to Milwaukee on June 14th
